This is our first time at Café
Trofima. However considering our splendid first experience, we soon will be
trying other delicacies on their menu. We reached Café Trofima after going
through their Zomato page and reading so many positive reviews from food enthusiasts!!
This outlet has all kinds of snacking and food options which one looks for...
Café Trofima is located in the
heart of Mumbai city, Dadar near the busy lanes of Shivaji Park. The word Trofima
is derived from the Ancient Greek word “trophḗ (τροφή)”, meaning 'food'. The
first look of this place will surely leave one in awe. The top of the entrance
is beautifully decorated and the big glass windows give a high street kind of
feel to the entire setup. We personally love how Instagram friendly the café is.
They have wisely chosen pastel hues for the interior décor which we absolutely
adore. On the walls, there are small wooden frames with picture of food item
like pasta, burger, shakes drawn with colored chalks.
It is not just the ambiance,
the food also made us feel really proud of our decision to visit Café Trofima.
They have a good detailed menu
covering various cuisines from Asian to Continental. Café Trofima has a
separate Breakfast menu served from 8 to 11:30 AM. We later on got to know that
the café is popular among the nearby visitors mainly for Breakfast. And we are
not surprised because they are offering everything starting from Parathas, Eggs
to Pancakes & Waffles in their breakfast menu. Their all-day menu is so
vast that it can make one go bonkers at once!! J From Salads & Burgers to Sizzlers &
Pizzas, you name it and they have it all. Wait, the menu is not over yet… Along
with this, they have a different segment which they call ‘Asian Selection’ for
the Asian food lovers.
For Beverages, they have cold
coffees, frappes, mocha and many other items. In this segment, the most popular
and hugely loved item is their Freak Shakes which comes in 5 variants: Freaky
Ferreroshake, Freaky Snickers, Freaky Anni Oreo, Freaky Pick Wick and Freaky
Cheesecake. You can get a sugar rush on their Freaky shakes and quite literally
pass out for the day…
Moving on to what we tried at Café
Trofima.
From
All-day menu:
1. Soup of the day – Manchow soup - We started with something simple yet a personal favorite item.
It is said that if the staples are made correctly, the other things on the menu
would be good too. And we really relish the taste of this Manchow.

2. Veg Black Burger –
This is one of the Café Trofima Signature Dishes. It has mix patty of chickpeas,
black beans & spinach along with tomato, onion & everybody’s fav
Cheese. This was all in between two Black buns as the name of dish says. We
loved this!! It came with Cole slaw & fries which made us go merrier.

3. Gnocchi Al Ragout – It
is basically chicken Ragout with potato Gnocchi in white cream sauce. (Ragout
is French style stew which can be made with Veggies or chicken or fish. Here it
is chicken ragout.) (Gnocchi are soft dumplings of cheese and potato
generally.) This dish is a good substitute if you don’t feel like ordering a regular
pasta or noodles dish. The white cream gives this cuisine a very creamy taste
which makes the taste buds feel really good. We highly recommend this!

Freak Shakes:
Freaky Ferrero Shake – This
beverage is so Instagram friendly. It is one of those fancy looking shakes with
rich cream, Ferrero rosher, marshmallow, mini doughnut, whipped cream and a lot
more on its top. The shake was super thick like it should be. It felt
satisfactory and fulfilling to have this Freak shake. A must try item at Café Trofima.

Café Trofima is a must visit
place if you are planning an outing with friends or a date with your lover or a
casual day out with your family!!
