Fun loaded evening @MRP – My Regular place | Dadar | Mumbai

By - March 23, 2019

Now there are many outlets serving more than food and drinks. Presently, restaurants believe in delivering great experiences. One such outlet is MRP – My Regular Place. It doesn’t matter how many times we visit this place, it never fails to awe us. We always end up having a great time. Situated in Dadar, MRP is a venture by the Pritam Group of Hotels which enjoys popularity from child outlets like Pritam Da Dhaba, Grandmama’s Café, Please Don’t Tell, The Roll Company and a few others.

You might be thinking why is it named MRP? Well, there is a reason. (Something you would definitely be interested in) They have happy hours within which you can enjoy your drinks at MRP!! (Sometimes if not at MRP they charge it at a pocket friendly price) Over and above this, at MRP you can enjoy board games, Jenga bricks, Ping pong balls, Deck of cards, darts as well. If you are more interested in watching sports, know that MRP has a hi-definition TV screen on which you can watch matches that are broadcast-ed live.

The outlet has a gaming room décor with an inviting & chill aura. Mostly done in wood, MRP has an inside & outside seating space options. Every table has a box with a rule book with instructions for the various games which you can play. Apart from the seating space, they have the cocktails bar on one side. Considering the kind of popularity MRP has gained, it is generally packed during evenings. (We personally prefer pre booking) It is high time that MRP should actually look towards expanding the outlet area.

The drinks menu is quite extensive ranging from hard drinks, shots to cocktails & mocktails. They have a number of house cocktails too – Popular ones being The Chi & Japanese Onsen. Food menu has variety of options too. They have Baos, pizzas, Asian, Continental & Indian food items. Some of the interesting cuisines are: Beer batter onion rings (INR 240), Koliwada fried prawns (INR 410), Butter chicken bao (INR 250), Chicken gassi (INR 380), Jenga tower (INR 310).

We would also like to mention the courteousness of the staff. Be it seating arrangement or providing you with good drinks/food options, they will ensure you are having a nice experience.

Below is what we tried from the food menu:

1. Trio French Fries (INR 230) – Fries undoubtedly is perfect munching item. These are classic fries sprinkled with three different seasonings and are served with aioli dip. (Sauce made up of majorly garlic & olive oil)

2. Chicken Galouti sliders (INR 260) – This one is our personal favorite. These are small sesame buns with chicken galouti patty. This cuisine is accompanied with cabbage-onion- mayo dip. These galouti sliders are amazingly fulfilling and really good in taste.

3. Reshmi Chicken Tikka (INR 280) – Classic reshmi chicken tikka can never be a wrong item to order. The tikkas were soft & juicy. This dish was served on skewer with coriander & mint chutney.

4. Butter chicken Bao (INR 250) – This bao item was suggested by our server. Initially we weren’t sure about ordering this but we have no regrets since the baos were yummy!! Baos had tandoori chicken in rich makhani gravy with fried onions on the top to give crunchy texture. The proportion of bao to chicken was good too. Totally recommend this one.

5. Drunken chicken wings (INR 290) – Do you love old monk?? We ordered this one due to our love for old monk. It turned out to be absolutely delicious. Chicken wings tossed in old monk were soft and properly done. Go for this one without a doubt.

6. Pressure cooker chicken biryani (INR 380) – We saw an Indian section on the menu and we decided to taste at least one of the items. We loved the presentation. Biryani literally came in a small pressure cooker and was served with black dal & raita (due to some reason there was coconut chutney too). This item was served on a banana leaf to give it a south indian touch!! We liked the taste & texture of the biryani. However, the quantity of dal & raita was not sufficient for two people.

We always have an amazing experience at MRP – My Regular Place. And needless to say, it has truly become a regular hanging out place for us.

Kudos to team MRP!!
